Filipa Andreia Bento

Born in Portugal, Ms. Bento is a skilled trial attorney with substantial courtroom experience. Since joining DRML, Ms. Bento has tried nearly a dozen trials, including serving as first-chair counsel in several, where she secured defense verdicts. She has also successfully obtained summary judgments and negotiated favorable settlements on behalf of her clients.

She is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, as well as the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Her practice currently focuses on complex civil litigation and governmental defense.

During her legal training, Ms. Bento completed judicial externships with the Honorable Karen S. Jennemann, the Honorable Arthur B. Briskman, and the Honorable Cynthia C. Jackson of the United States Bankruptcy Court Middle District of Florida. These experiences equipped her with the skills to address a broad spectrum of complex litigation issues.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts with honors from Rollins College and her Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law. During law school, she served as a Dean’s Fellow and contributed as a member of the Environmental and Earth Law Journal. She was awarded the prestigious book award in Contracts for achieving the highest grade in the class.

Beyond her practice, she is actively involved in the legal community as a member of the American Inns of Court, the Orange County Bar Association, and the Civil Trial Section of The Florida Bar. She has also presented seminars on civil trials and emerging developments in civil liability law.
