Defense Summary Judgment

This negligent security case arose out of the tragic and fatal shooting of a young man – a rising football star and scholar who was heavily involved in community service and well-known throughout his community – outside a smoke shop in the shopping center owned and managed by our client, O’Keefe Enterprises. Our team was able to obtain final summary judgment in favor of our client, successfully arguing that our client did not have a duty to protect against or prevent the tragic incident based on it being unforeseeable as a matter of law.
